Trying To Pull It Together

Trying To Pull It Together
I've had a busy two months. I went on a three week trip to Florida with my Aunt back in January and it was fabulous. We stayed at her condo and the weather was beautiful the entire time we were there with the exception of two rainy days. We got back in February, a day after the Super Bowl. Took us well over a week to recuperate from that. Then my In-Laws came to visit and we had a lot of fun with them. We did the zoo and the Air and Space Museum Annex. I was still having a hard time getting back into the swing of things, but really wanted to start the South Beach Diet with Garrick. We started that and we made it past the first week and though most of the second then….. The sickies struck! That's right! Between allergies and a cold, everyone in my house was miserably ill. I gave up on the diet three days before the first phase of it was over so I could take care of my little guys.

Technically I should have been able to keep up with blogging, despite not having internet access. It would have been pretty simple to just email my entires using my posterous account, but what can I say? I really like using the MacBook to type out my entries. If I have a lot of writing to do, it's a little cumbersome using my phone to assemble the post. Here's to hoping tonight's posts are the first of many more chronologically closely spaced blog entries. I still have a lot of stuff to put on here about my trip to New York AND now the past two months. I'm such a slacker…

Back to School

Back to School
Back to school this week and we are into the fifth week of our curriculum. I know we're going kind of slowly with this, but we were travelling during the first two months of the school year. I actually plan on bringing week six on the road with us. We'll see how that works out while we are traveling.

This week our theme is lighthouses. Here is Trent shining his beacon in the lighthouse he and I built, and the boys having a snack.

Trent’s Favorite Fruit Salad

Trent’s Favorite Fruit Salad
Here are the boys helping me make a fruit salad from the fruit Santa brought. Each year Santa always puts fruit in the stockings and a box of clementines somewhere near the tree. We needed to use up our bananas and this recipe is perfect for that! It's so easy to just have the kids assemble it, especially since clementines are so easy to peel.

3-6 Clementines
3-6 Bananas
Plain Yogurt
Half a box of vanilla pudding

Peel and separate clementines. Cut up bananas. Put everything in a large bowl and stir to combine. Refrigerate leftovers.
