AeroGarden
My birthday was last month and I just got my birthday present from my Dad yesterday. He got me this cool thing called an AeroGarden. It just came in the mail a couple of days ago and today Trent and I set it up in the kitchen. I think we will have a lot of fun watching my new herb garden grow! I’ll have fresh dill, parsley, two kinds of basil, mint, thyme and chives for the next six months or so. Pretty exciting!

As the plants start to take off I will try and update the blog with pics. Something that I am really jazzed about with this thing is that they do a garden starter tray. The send you this tray with sixty six spots for to put your own seeds and then you can plant them outside. I won’t be doing that this year, but in coming years… Might not be a bad idea once I get my garden in the ground.
Update March 7, 2010: We have removed a dome off of our first plant pod this morning; purple basil!

Update March 13, 2010: I had wanted to do an update after taking all the tops off of the pods, but I think I may have gotten a dud. The parsley still hasn’t sprouted yet and everything else has really taken off. It still has until next Thursday according to the sprout times that were given with the pods. Everything else in there is looking awesome!
Update March 27, 2010: Well, turns out the parsley was NOT a dud! So all of my herbs have sprouted at this point, all of the domes are off, I just raised the light hood to the next notch a few days ago and last week I refilled the water and food packet for the first time. My Aerogarden is rocking!
Update April 1, 2010: The AeroGarden us no joke! Just look at these pictures!
Update April 7, 2010: I just raised the hood onto the last notch yesterday and gave the second batch of food and water last week. I also used my herbs for the first time in a rotisserie chicken I made a few days ago. Go AeroGarden!
