September 29th 2009, A Day Which Will Live In Awesome…
…at least in the Anson household! Lots of big news in our lives happened! First, my husband found out that he is going to soon be a federal employee! He has been a governement contractor for the past two and half years and while it is good money, there is always the worry that he may lose the contract and job. This federal position offers him stability and a lot of other benefits, too! He will be making a little more money, he’ll get better benefits, etc. He called me while he was hovering his mouse over the send button on his resignation email. Even though he is moving on to bigger and better things he was a little nervous to send the resignation. It can be difficult to leave something that you know so well to replace it with something you don’t. He starts his new job in a little less than two weeks. Yay! I think the biggest bummer about his new job will be that he won’t be working the same hours he does now. With his current job, he goes in to work at a god awful hour in the morning, but gets home around two thirty most days. It’s great because he gets to spend so much time with me and the kids or run errands, do chores or have time to himself.
More good news is my sister-in-law (who lives with us) got a call from a place that she interviewed with a couple of weeks ago. One of the people who interviewed her wanted to know if Britten could come back to meet the CEO/President of the company this week. I think that isĀ a totally good sign and I think she may have a new, well paying job ahead of her! She actually went in the next day and the meeting went really well. I really hope she gets this job!
The final awesome thing to happen on this particular tuesday was that the seller of the house we are trying to buy agreed to our newest offer! My plan worked! Hooray! I was really worried that he wouldn’t accept our offer of paying the closing costs since he was so upset about the VA appraisal lowering the amount of the loan for the house. He did, though, and now we will be closing on the house by the end of the month at the latest. One really rad thing is that our mortgage payments will be much lower with the new loan terms then they would have been with the original contract. We’ll be celebrating the holidays in our new home this year!
